Tales Tag – Winter Wonderland
Tales Of Yesterday has been tagged by Books for Birds to complete a Winter Wonderland Book Tag to answer winter book questions. Here goes….
1. What book is so happy and sweet that it warms your heart?
Sunday’s at Tiffany’s by James Patterson
A lovely read truly heart warming and romantic to get you in a loved up mood for Christmas!
2. What is your favourite book with a white cover?
The Snowman by Raymond Briggs
Well it has a sort of white cover with a white snowman and a classic!
3. You’re sitting in a nice comfy chair, wearing a onesie, with a lovely warm hot chocolate but what MONSTER read are you reading?
If this question means MONSTER as in size then definitely The Diviners by Libba Bray
I have not long finished this book and is a huge read with nearly 700 pages, but is a really good, creepy, historical read – if you like you can read my review here
Now if this question means MONSTER as in MONSTER then I suggest this…
Monster Mission by Eva Ibbotson with new cover illustration by Alex T Smith
A wonderful children’s read (and adults!) and the new re released covers this year from Alex are beautiful!
4. It started snowing so you decided to have a snowball fight! What fictional character would you love to have the snowball fight with?
Its got to be Harry, Ron or Hermione for sure….I mean imagine how much fun a snowball fight would be! Expelliarmus!
5. Sadly, your fire is beginning to go out. So what book would you tear the last few chapters out to throw into the fire?
Oh my….I could not do this to a book! Okay maybe I could….I present Animal Farm by George Orwell…..I blame school for making me hate this book with a passion. Maybe if I re-read it now I might like it…it has been..*ahem*…a few years! Stop sniggering at the back!
6. What book is so close to your heart that you would gift to someone this Christmas who hasn’t read before but wants to get into reading?
We Were Liars By E Lockhart
I think I’m always gushing about this book….it broke my heart. If you like check out my review here
Thank you Fionnuala from Books for Birds for tagging me.
I tag Alan from The Theory Of Books for the Winter Wonderland BookTag – enjoy!
It’s starting to feel like Christmas with all these posts/tags going around 😀 What is Animal Farm about? I heard the name before. Thank you for tagging me 🙂 I can’t wait to do this tag!!!
That’s my pleasure 🙂 ….yes it definitely feels closer to Christmas now. Animal Farm is basically about a bunch on animals who set them selves rules and try to function like humans, but they are all equivalent to a historical leader like Hitler or Stalin etc. My description is really not very good lol I hated this book at school, but maybe with older eyes and without to much essay pushing I might enjoy it if I read again…its just the thought of picking it up to read makes me get the shakes lol. have a look at it here – http://www.amazon.co.uk/Animal-Farm-Penguin-Modern-Classics/dp/0141182709/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417633139&sr=8-1&keywords=animal+farm
